I really want to finish writing about Spain and France, but just have to post some pics of Greece before I go to sleep.\u00a0 It’s really great to be back on this crazy island after 12 years.\u00a0 Seeing friends, archaeologists and museum guards I haven’t seen for ages is really wonderful.\u00a0\u00a0 Not sure how, but I managed to get lost today on the way to the apotheke, the pottery warehouse where I worked and went back and forth to every day for four summer study seasons. I honestly have no idea how I ended up where I was.\u00a0 I think I might need to take a how-not-to get-lost-in-familiar-places class or something.<\/p>\n

Anyway, won’t go too much into work yet because I have to get up early, but just wanted to post a few pics from Athens.\u00a0 Got the biggest surprise on Saturday…landed in Athens around 3am Saturday and was going to spend the night with my friend Zeta and her family before heading to Paros on Sunday morning.\u00a0 I told her I was going to wait until the sun to rise before invading her apartment, so I cozied up to an outlet, plugged my computer in and was going to finish posting about Spain and France.\u00a0 Began resizing photos when suddenly I felt two people kind of hovering over to my left and when I looked, it was Zeta and Panaiotes!\u00a0 They decided to just stay up and then come and get me, which was so amazing!\u00a0 Best surprise!\u00a0 And we had such a great day, gorgeous Greek lunch on their terrace with their beautiful, funny, delightful children, then a fun night strolling through plaka.\u00a0 The visit was way too short, but very sweet.\u00a0 And even though Athens in August is a hellish sweatbox, I can’t help but love every bit of it.\u00a0 Here are a few pics…<\/p>\n
